Medical Transportation is available for any purpose such as but not limited to:
- Inter-Facility Transfers
- Hospital Discharge / Admissions
- Nursing Home Transfers
- Out-Patient Visits
- Doctor, Dentist, or Eye Appointments
- Physical Therapy
- MRI and Radiology Appointments
- Dialysis Treatment
South Central EMS, Inc. offers an alternative, more affordable means of medical transportation in addition to ambulance transportation. Our vehicles are staffed by Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and other providers specially trained in non-emergency transportation. Our staff is trained to provide professional, courteous service and patient care. We are available for local and long distance transports and can accommodate those clients requiring either a wheelchair or stretcher.
Scheduling
To schedule a wheelchair or stretcher transport please call 545-1083 or email our transport coordinator. If you call after our business hours, please listen to the recording carefully and you will be given an on duty Shift Supervisor number to contact our crews directly. It is recommended that you make transport arrangements as early as possible to insure a crew will be available for your needs.

*Rates are subject to change at any time.
The above rates include the first 10 miles of a transport after which the charge is $2.00 per mile. Additional charges may be added for waiting time in excess of 15 minutes and for extra medical treatment. This medical transport service is not covered by most insurance companies and is the responsibility of the patient. Payment for service is due at the time of transport, unless other arrangements have been made.
